17-Day Highlight Tour through Namibia
This tour package combines Namibia’s highlights with unforgettable riding experiences.
Over 17 adventurous days, you will discover the country on your own with your rental car and stay in nature-focused self-catering camps, charming guest farms, or carefully selected hotels.
Along the route, there are three incredible ranches where you can go riding – each one personally visited by us and recommended with full confidence!
-
Day 1 – Welcome to Namibia!
You arrive early in the morning at Hosea Kutako International Airport. Don’t worry – the airport is small and easy to navigate; it’s virtually impossible to get lost.
At the exit, the car rental company will already be waiting to welcome you and show you your vehicle. For your trip, we have planned a Suzuki Jimny. Of course, an upgrade to a larger vehicle such as a Toyota Fortuner or a Hilux is possible before your trip.
From the airport, you will drive directly to your first accommodation – just about 25 km, ideal for getting settled in. Later, you can also drive into Windhoek to shop or explore a bit.
By the way, the guesthouse is located right in our neighborhood – we would be delighted to meet you there personally!

Day 2 – Kalahari
Off to the Kalahari – Red Sands & E-Bikes
The Kalahari is an impressive semi-desert in southern Africa, famous for its vivid red sand dunes, thorn bushes, and vast savannas. It is considered the largest continuous sand area in the world and, despite its dryness, supports surprisingly abundant wildlife – including oryx antelopes, springboks, and even cheetahs.
Here, you have many ways to experience the landscape actively:
How about a guided dune or night hike? Or an E-bike tour through the red sands – highly recommended! Those who prefer to explore on their own will also find beautiful, free hiking trails. Therefore, we have not pre-booked fixed activities for you here – you can decide spontaneously on-site what you feel like doing. You will be accommodated in a comfortable self-catering tented lodge with views of the dunes – fully equipped with dishes, a refrigerator, and everything you need. You can prepare something delicious yourself or dine at the lodge’s restaurant. The small town of Mariental is only about 30 km away if you want to do some shopping.
If you don’t want to cook yourself, we can, of course, book all meals for you in advance or arrange them spontaneously at the lodge.
Currently included in the itinerary:
1 night, including breakfastAn upgrade to the nearby lodge is of course also possible.

Namib Appaloosas
On the third day, you set off early and drive about 230 km south – to the edge of the world’s oldest desert, the Namib Desert. There, you will be warmly welcomed by a German-speaking couple. They breed beautiful, strong Appaloosas that are perfectly adapted to the harsh desert climate.
You will stay in a newly built bungalows, which blends harmoniously into the Namibian landscape and offers breathtaking views.
On the first afternoon, a relaxed introductory ride awaits, where you will get to know the horses and the surroundings.
The next day includes two more rides – one in the morning and one in the afternoon – perfect for enjoying the stunning landscape from the saddle.
On the fifth day, another ride is planned. Afterwards, you have time for your own explorations: for example, take a self-drive excursion to the nearby Duwisib Castle or simply enjoy the peace with a walk in the surrounding area. You can plan the day entirely according to your preferences.
Currently included in the itinerary:
3 nights with full board (excluding alcoholic beverages)
1 × 1-hour ride for 2 people
3 × 2-hour rides for 2 peopleIf you are traveling with someone who does not ride, there is still plenty to experience – for example, guided hikes or exciting farm drives. We are happy to tailor the program individually to your wishes.

The Oldest Sandbox in the World!
After exciting days with the Appaloosas, it’s time to pack your bags! Today, you will drive about 160 km towards Sossusvlei. Your accommodation is again a fully equipped self-catering camp, just about 4 km from the entrance to Namib-Naukluft National Park. Conveniently, there is a nearby gas station for shopping, a lodge next door for dining, or you can order a braai (barbecue) package directly at the camp.
The next morning, it’s time to rise early – ideally arriving before the park gates open, so you can experience the park in the cool morning atmosphere. From here, it’s about 60 km to the world-famous Sossusvlei dunes and the mystical Deadvlei.
Keep your entrance ticket safe! It allows you to return to the park in the afternoon and explore Sesriem Canyon – another highlight of the region.
You’ll find many more tips, route suggestions, and insider secrets in our exclusive guest booklet, which you receive after booking – packed with information, recommendations, and little tricks for your Namibia adventure.

On a guided tracking tour, they can be easily located and observed calmly from the open safari vehicle – an unforgettable experience.
Your accommodation is idyllic, with views over the plains. Often oryx or springbok antelopes rest in the shade of trees – sometimes so close you can watch them right from your terrace.
