13 Days in the biodiverse North

This tour package brings together the very best Namibia has to offer: fascinating safari experiences and unforgettable riding adventures set within breathtaking landscapes.

Over 13 eventful days, you will explore the country independently with your rental car and stay in nature-based self-catering camps, charming guest farms, or carefully selected hotels and lodges. Along your route, you will visit three stunning ranches where you can go riding – each one personally visited by us and selected for you with the utmost care and confidence.

  • The Adventure Begins

You arrive early at Hosea Kutako International Airport. Don’t worry – the airport is small, organized, and wonderfully relaxed.

Your rental car will be ready at the exit. We recommend a Suzuki Jimny for two adventurers – compact, reliable, and perfect for Namibia. Upgrades to a larger, more comfortable vehicle can be arranged before your trip.

From the airport, it’s just 25 km to your first accommodation – ideal for settling in. If you wish, you can later drive into Windhoek for shopping or a short city tour.

The guesthouse is conveniently located in our neighborhood – we would love to meet you personally!

    Included:

    • 1 night, including breakfast

  • Namibia’s First Western Ranch

Spread over 9,000 hectares of wilderness, this ranch is run by a lovely family of German origin who established Namibia’s first Western-style ranch.

Here, genuine hospitality is paramount – every guest is a friend, not a tourist.
Equally important are the horses: the family breeds its own Namibian Mustangs – a hardy cross of Arabians, Quarter Horses, Basutos, Hanoverians, and farm horses – aiming for the perfect Western horse for the Namibian savannah.

Riding is in Western style, with emphasis on Natural Horsemanship – gentle, respectful, and harmonious.

Accommodation options include cozy single and double rooms as well as family bungalows, all with private bathrooms. Hot water is traditionally heated using a wood-fired boiler (“Donkey”).

    Included:

    • 3 nights, including breakfast & dinner

    • 1 × 1-hour ride for 2 people

    • 3 × 2-hour rides for 2 people

Alternative activities are available for non-riders, and the program can be tailored individually.

  • Etosha – pure safari!

From the western ranch, you will travel around 300 kilometers to the famous Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s best-known wildlife reserves.
The park covers an impressive 22,935 square kilometers and lies in the heart of northern Namibia – a true paradise for wildlife lovers and photographers.

For your stay, we have selected a fully equipped self-catering camp outside the park – offering significantly better value for money than the state-run lodges inside the park boundaries.

You decide how you want to experience Etosha:
Either explore the park independently with your rental car, keeping an eye out for elephants, lions, giraffes & co. – or join the guided game drives offered by your accommodation.

Both options have their own unique appeal:
On a self-drive safari, you set your own pace – linger with an animal for as long as you like or patiently wait for the perfect photo moment.
Guided safaris, on the other hand, offer the advantage of experienced guides with trained eyes who can spot even well-camouflaged animals and share fascinating insights into wildlife behavior.

    Currently included in the price:
    1 night, including breakfast

  • Self-Drive Adventure

Spend the night at a charming bush camp just 10 km east of the Von Lindequist Gate. Canvas tents with private bathrooms keep you close to nature.

Start early and drive through the park, discovering wildlife along the waterholes. Relax during the hot midday hours and then embark on an afternoon game drive – perhaps encountering leopards or rhinos.

Morning sunrise drives offer magical light and wildlife sightings before heading to your next horse ranch.

    Included:

    • 1 night, including breakfast & dinner

Upgrades to nearby luxury lodges are always possible.

  • On to the next ranch – riding, relaxing & enjoying

Your next stop is a family-run farm with a safari lodge near Otavi – a true hidden gem!

The German-speaking owner family runs the lodge with great passion and places a strong emphasis on giving every guest a personal, warm “home away from home” feeling.

The property features 16 comfortable rooms and two campsites, set within a beautiful natural landscape. Warmth and hospitality are at the heart of everything here – you immediately sense that this is not an anonymous hotel operation, but a place where guests become friends.

The horses are trained in the English riding style and are ridden in comfortable trail saddles. Particularly impressive is the care and dedication the family shows toward their animals:
A well-designed training program ensures that the horses remain fit while also enjoying sufficient rest periods. Their well-being always comes first.

This is also the reason why this lodge was included in our program with complete confidence.

For you, we have planned 3 nights in a luxury room overlooking the waterhole – perfect for starting the day with a cup of coffee while watching oryx or kudu pass by.

The ranch program is varied and tailored to your wishes:
In addition to two long rides (adjusted to your riding level), you can look forward to an unforgettable bush breakfast ride, a hiking trail, and an exciting safari drive in an open 4x4 vehicle.
Of course, the program can be expanded or complemented with additional activities at any time – entirely according to your mood and preferences.

    Currently included in your itinerary:

    • 3 nights, including breakfast & dinner

    • 2 long rides for 2 people

    • 1 bush breakfast ride

    • 1 hiking trail

    • 1 safari drive in an open 4x4 vehicle

The farm also offers plenty of activities for non-riders. We’re happy to adapt the program to your wishes!

  • In the footsteps of the big cats

Didn’t spot any leopards in Etosha? No problem!
On your next leg of the journey, you’ll have the chance to see these fascinating animals after all – and from up close.

In this private game reserve, the leopards live completely wild, but they are fitted with radio-collar transmitters that allow them to be located.
This makes it possible to track them easily on a guided tracking tour and observe them calmly from an open safari vehicle – an experience you’ll never forget.

Your accommodation is idyllically situated with sweeping views over the plains. Often, oryx or springbok antelopes rest in the shade of the trees – sometimes so close that you can watch them directly from your terrace.

A wide range of exciting activities is available for you to book optionally:

    • Leopard tracking

    • Rhino tracking

    • Hyena tracking

    • Pangolin tracking

    • Night drives

    • Game drives

    • Guided nature walks

    • Free of charge: self-guided walks on marked trails

As every journey is different, these activities are not included in the current tour price.
You can book them spontaneously on site – or we can plan your favorites in advance to make sure you don’t miss out on anything.

Currently included in the tour price:
1 night, including breakfast & dinner

  • Highlight: Luxury lodge & safari on horseback

On day 11 of your journey, you’ll travel around 220 kilometers to your next destination – and this grand finale truly has it all!

You’ll stay at a genuine luxury lodge with its own riding stable, leaving nothing to be desired. Stylish rooms, warm-hearted service, and breathtaking views over the African landscape make this place the perfect conclusion to your adventure.

In the afternoon, you’re spoiled for choice:
Whether it’s horseback riding, a sundowner drive, a nature walk, a night drive, a game drive, a round of tennis or bowling, or perhaps relaxing in the spa – anything is possible here.
There’s even an XXL chessboard waiting for you if you’re in the mood for a bit of fun and movement away from the saddle.
Don’t worry: all activities can be chosen and booked spontaneously on site, entirely according to your mood.

The next morning brings your personal riding highlight:
An approximately three-hour game ride on horseback, during which you can observe giraffes, warthogs, wildebeest, and zebras directly from the saddle – an absolutely unforgettable experience that will stay with you for a long time.
The afternoon is then entirely yours – time to relax, swim, read, or simply enjoy.

By the way, the riding stable is run by friends of ours and carries our personal seal of approval: quality, animal welfare, and loving care are top priorities here.

    Currently included in your itinerary:

    • 2 nights, including breakfast & dinner

    • 1 × 3-hour safari ride on horseback, for 2 people

  • Goodbye, Namibia!

After one last relaxed breakfast, you’ll set off calmly on your return journey – Windhoek is only about 70 kilometers away.
We’d be delighted to meet you there once more in person and hear all about your adventures and favorite moments!

You can then return your rental car directly at the airport by 4:00 pm.

  • Flexible & individual – just like you!

Each of our tours can be tailored entirely to your wishes: only 12 days available? No problem!
